Salam sejahtera

Today there are many scientists who examine the structure of materials or living beings in nature and use them as reference to their work. Solidity, lightness, flexibility and chemical characteristics of the materials found in nature have led scientists to imitate the structure of these materials. Many materials and characteristics of living beings that we come across in everyday life grab the attention of scientist and these materials are studied to be imitated.

Lubrication system that prevents suffering pain while moving

Some of our bones that are constantly in action require a different kind of support with respect to the bones in immobile zones. We can give our joints as an example. In every move, the vertebrae that make up our spine, joints in our legs and hands turn on top of one another. Since they are constantly in action, they need supportive systems.

For example, when mechanical equipment is working, there is friction and corroding at the contact points of mobile parts. In order to prevent this, lubrication is required in every mobile mechanical system let it be a simple door hinge or a high-tech automobile engine. However, lubrication does not completely prevent friction, it only delays it.

Even though they move constantly during the course of one’s life, joints of human beings and animals do not require any maintenance or lubrication. Friction surfaces of the joints are covered with a thin and spongy layer of cartilage and there is a dense liquid under. From which point the bone pressures the joint, this liquid squirts from the pores and ensures the surface becomes slippery like oil. As it is seen, there is a completely perfect Creation for a human being to be able to move.

A very effective disinfectant: Tear

Tear, which most people assume to be “salty water that runs out when you cry”, is actually a very special liquid. Its first task is to protect the eye against microbes. The “lysozyme” enzyme inside is able to break up many types of bacteria and to kill microbes. The eye is protected against infections through lysozyme. This substance is even more effective than the substances inside strong disinfectants used to clean buildings from microbes. And how does such a strong disinfectant not harm the eye and on the contrary provide perfect protection? This is the superior artistry in Allah’s Creation. The tear is created in the most appropriate way with respect to its chemical structure. This perfect coordination that exists in every point of life, is also valid for the eye and tears.

There is also a lubrication system in the eye. This system prevents the eye that turns toward four different directions for one hundred times, from getting harmed as a result of these movements.

Protective Layer

Covering surfaces is very important in terms of ensuring protection against dirt and friction. It is especially important to do this against water leakages that can leak in and rot soft timbers. Many protective materials that people use in everyday life have already been used by living beings in nature heretofore. Timber cover is only one of these. The chitin layer that covers insects is one of the materials that set an example for covering timber surfaces. Chitin is very light and thin, but also very strong and flexible to act like a skeleton. No water can leak in thanks to the special covering material on top. It does not leak the liquids inside the body to the outside.

Monumental Cleanness in the Swamp

The Lotus plant (white lily) grows in muddy and dirty environments but their leaves are always clean. This is because when even the smallest speck of dust reaches it, the plant immediately shakes its leaves and pushes the dust specks to specific points. The rain drops that fall on the leaf are directed towards these points and thus are made to sweep the dust there.

This characteristic of the Lotus plant has opened up new horizons for researchers about the design of the surface of a new building. Researchers have begun to work on building surfaces that clean the dirt by using rain water like the Lotus plant. As a result of this research, a German company called ISPO manufactured a coating material called Lotusan. This product launched in Asia and Europe is guaranteed to “keep itself clean for 5 years without the need for any detergent.” This silicon based coating dye called Lotusan imitates the Lotus plant from which it got its name as well as its system completely. According to this system, on the surface there are small bumps 5-10 micrometers (one in a thousand millimeters) high and 10-15 micrometers far from one another. As a result, there is a bumpy surface composed of wires and 0,1 micrometers wide. When looked from the outside, this shape of the surface that looks flat but in reality is bumpy as covered with wax, prevents the water drops to touch the surface and lets them flow down with the help of their own weight.

Many living beings in nature possess a variety of features that protect their surfaces. No doubt, the surface structure of the Lotus plant, the chitin layer in bugs, tears or the liquid that makes us move easily by preventing friction in our joints have not form on their own. It is the Almighty, All-Knowing Allah Who created them with all their features and with a perfect structure.

“He is Allah – the Creator, the Maker, the Giver of Form. To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Everything in the heavens and earth glorifies Him. He is the Almighty, the All-Wise.” (Surat al-Hashr, 24)

Salam sejahtera.

KEHIDUPAN SOSIAL

Kasta ketiga terdiri atas semut pekerja.

Masalahnya, mengapa makhluk hidup suka tolong-menolong?

Mungkinkah Semut Menjadi Penjaga Pintu?

Mari kita pikirkan: Mengapa seekor semut mau menjadi penjaga pintu?

Bagaimana Hidup Berkelompok Mempengaruhi Semut?

Sekarang, misalkan saja Anda berhasil masuk.

(QS. Hud, 11: 56)

Salam sejahtera.

(Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar’s live interview on Tempo TV and Kocaeli TV, September 18th, 2009)OKTAR BABUNA: The stopping of the waters in 1975 is described in the hadith, and that has also come about. The occupation of Afghanistan in 1979 also happened, insha’Allah. And these happened for the first time in the year 1400 (Islamic calendar).

ADNAN OKTAR: In the hadith our Prophet (saas) says that all this will happen en masse in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as), one after the other. And they have happened one by one with a mathematical regularity.
OKTAR BABUNA: The attack on the Kaaba in 1979 and the shedding of blood at the Kaaba.
ADNAN OKTAR: That was the first time in 1400 years, the first time the Hajj (pilgrimage) was prevented in 1400 years. OKTAR BABUNA: The Iran-Iraq War in 1980. The sky being hidden by fire and smoke. You know that the largest tanker in the world, the Independenta, exploded and burned in Istanbul in 1979. ADNAN OKTAR: Said Nursi says that events of this kind will happen in the End Times, in the former capital of the Islamic world. He says they have happened in places such as Basra, Kufe or Sham, but that those narrating the accounts said so in the light of the conditions of their own times, imagining that Barsa, or Kufe or Sham would remain the center of the Islamic world. Our Prophet (saas) says it will be in the center of the Islamic world. If it was Sham then, he says it will happen in Sham. Someone else says it will happen in Kufe. But the essence of the matter is the center of the Islamic world. And where was the former capital? Istanbul. For that reason, all events of this kind happen in Istanbul. But Said Nursi says that trivial matters are of no importance in the sight of our Prophet (saas). He says he would not hand them down if they were insignificant, only if they were important. So our Prophet (saas) tells us only what is important.
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes, insha’Allah. Eclipses of the Sun and Moon 15 days apart in the month of Ramadan. As you know, there were eclipses of the Sun and Moon, 15 days apart, during the month of Ramadan in two consecutive years, 1981 and 1982.
ADNAN OKTAR: They are now producing masons saying that these hadith are untrue. But they have taken place. The whole thing is over and done with. The truth is out. Yes, carry on. OKTAR BABUNA: The appearance of a comet, the coming of Halley’s comet in 1986, that also happened.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes.
OKTAR BABUNA: There is also mention of a second comet, one with two tails, brighter than usual, travelling from west to east. In the opposite direction to all other comets. That also happened, with the comet Lulin.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, double tailed. That is most astonishing. Normally a comet appears, leaving its tail behind it. But there is another tail at the end of this one. And this tail is in the front, which is really amazing. This has also come about. It happened in the same way as the detailed description given by Imam Rabbani.
OKTAR BABUNA: A sign in the Sun. There were great solar explosions in 1996.
ADNAN OKTAR: The greatest sunbursts of the century.
OKTAR BABUNA: Then there was the greatest eclipse of the Sun in 1999. The invasion of Azerbaijan in 1996.
ADNAN OKTAR: You went a bit fast there, go back to the one before.
OKTAR BABUNA: A sign in the Sun.
ADNAN OKTAR: Then…
OKTAR BABUNA: An explosion in 1996 and a solar eclipse in 1999.
ADNAN OKTAR: We have already mentioned the solar and unar eclipses, but there was something else in the Sun, the greatest sunburst of this century. Yes, that is the real thing.
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes, insha’Allah. We are told of the invasion of Azerbaijan, and that happened in 1996. The hadith speak of a corruption of smoke and dust. And such a great corruption of smoke and dust, with buildings collapsing, happened on September 11, 2001. ADNAN OKTAR: That smoke and dust were very powerful, were they not? There was dust and smoke for many kilometers.
OKTAR BABUNA: Insha’Allah. You remember seeing all those people on the television, walking in that pitch black smoke. There is the destruction of Baghdad, which was devastated by the heavy bombing in 2003. There is the Iraqis being left with no legitimate currency, and that happened with the American invasion, just as revealed in the hadith.
ADNAN OKTAR: Their currency disappeared at that time, didn’t it? The newspaper wrote about it.
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes.
ADNAN OKTAR: Look at all the details provided by our Prophet (saas). They are all highly detailed, and have all come about one by one.
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes, masha’Allah. There is reference to an army vanishing in the desert. An Iraqi army of around 80,000 men vanished in the wake of the US invasion. Everyone witnessed that. ADNAN OKTAR: The papers wrote about the Iraqi army vanishing in just a day.
OKTAR BABUNA: They said it disappeared, masha’Allah. The sanctions against Iraq and Sham, and that also happened just as described, masha’Allah
ADNAN OKTAR: That was a bit fast. Could you say that again?
OKTAR BABUNA: Sanctions against Iraq and Damascus.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, they applied sanctions against Iraq. That was during the war, wasn’t it?
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes.
ADNAN OKTAR: They were also applied against Damascus, or Syria.
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes, insha’Allah. The reconstruction of Iraq. And after the invasion the reconstruction of the ruined cities began.
PRESENTER: Yes.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, and it is being done by Turkish firms, and by foreign firms. Reconstruction work in Iraq is still going on now. That is set out in the hadith and has also happened.
OKTAR BABUNA: “The people of Iraq fleeing to Damascus.” And they really did flee the American invasion and bombing. ADNAN OKTAR: yes, they fled to Syria, just like it says.
OKTAR BABUNA: “Iraq being divided into three,” and that also happened. Following the American invasion, and just as described.
ADNAN OKTAR: There is the Shiite area, and the Sunni area and the Kurdish zone, isn’t there? Yes, it has been divided. OKTAR BABUNA: It has effectively been split into three. There is a reference to the confused situation in Syria. That also happened. And “conflict between the Tigris and the Euphrates.” The PKK terror.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, the PKK terror.
PRESENTER: Yes.
OKTAR BABUNA: A lot of blood was really shed. “The destruction of cities.” As you know, the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed by atom bombs in the Second World War.
ADNAN OKTAR: They were destroyed in a single moment. That is in the hadith, and is something very important. He speaks of the destruction of a city, and of cities, one after the other. They were destroyed one after the other, weren’t they? In a matter of moments. That is another sign of this century.
OKTAR BABUNA: A sign, insha’Allah. “Fire being seen from the east.” in 1991. Iraq had the Kuwaiti oil fields set on fire following the invasion in 1991, if you remember. A huge fire engulfed Kuwait and the Gulf of Basra, just as described.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, everywhere was on fire. We saw fire all over the place on the television. They set all the oil wells on fire. Yes.
OKTAR BABUNA: “The killing of the rulers of Sham and Egypt” is spoken of in the hadith. And that also came about. Because Egyptian head of state Anwar Sadat was killed in q981 and the Lebanese leader Beshir Jamayel in 1982.
ADNAN OKTAR: The leaders of those regions, the leaders of the regions of Sham and Egypt. Sham does not just mean the city of Damascus. Sham means a whole region, and its leaders were killed. Its most eminent leaders were killed.
OKTAR BABUNA: The killing of the former king of Jordan.” King Abdullah of Jordan was killed by the British in 1951.
ADNAN OKTAR: He says that the king of Jordan will be killed. And that hadith also came true.
OKTAR BABUNA: The hadith speak of systems being changed. As you know, there was a huge change in systems with the tearing down of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the fragmentation of the USSR in 1991.
ADNAN OKTAR: Our Prophet (saas) said that systems would change, and that has happened.
PRESENTER: Yes.
OKTAR BABUNA: “Widespread killing.” And that is a well known characteristic of the 20th century, especially of the later decades. There is the “growth of buildings.” And “people speaking with their hands, with the hand of Hazrat Mahdi (as)” Their “speaking with the tip of a whip,” which are references to the telephone and the internet.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, people speak with their hands. That is what they do when they look at their mobile phones. That is the kind of impression they give.
PRESENTER: The mobile phone. New technology, of course.
ADNAN OKTAR: He speaks of them looking at their hands and seeing Hazrat Mahdi (as). He says they will see Hazrat Mahdi (as) where they sit. He is referring to the television, to his being seen on the television. He speaks of people talking to the heels of their shoes. And look, this is really amazing. That was manufactured just a couple of months ago. People speak with their heels. Word for word lie the Prophet (saas) said. If a person believes in any one of these then he has faith. It is proof that our Prophet (saas) is the true prophet. Our Prophet (saas) is working a miracle 1400 years after his death. And the prophet (saas) will continue to work miracles until Doomsday. You will see that all he says will come true, and is still doing so. But despite all their blustering, those masons cannot stop this light, this radiance, insha’Allah
OKTAR BABUNA: Insha’Allah. He speaks of “an increase in earthquakes.” And there has been a huge rise in earthquakes over the last 10-15 years.
PRESENTER: Yes.
OKTAR BABUNA: There are reports of earthquakes every day. CÄ°HAT GÜNDOÄžDU: There is “people speaking to themselves with their own voices.”
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes.
ADNAN OKTAR: For example, someone tapes his own voice and listens to it on the television or on video or on tape. Isn’t that right? It’s the same thing.
PRESENTER: Yes, he can listen to himself.
ADNAN OKTAR: Our Prophet (saas) says this. It may have seemed very odd to people at the time, but it has come true exactly, word for word.
PRESENTER: Of course. That would have been inconceivable.
OKTAR BABUNA: Look, these have all come about within 30 years, after a gap of 1400 years, one after the other.

Salam sejahtera.

In the Qur’an, it is stated that the unbeliever is one who neither recognizes nor appreciates the signs of God. The distinguishing mark of a believer is his ability to see those signs and proofs. He knows that these are not created in vain, and can realize the power and great art of God everywhere and find ways to revere Him. He is one of those men of sense, who “celebrate the praises of God, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (and say): ‘Our Lord! not for naught have You created (all) this! Glory be to You! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire.’ ” (Surat Al’Imran 3:191)

At various points in the Qur’an, expressions like, “will you not take heed?”, “…there is a sign for thinking men,” lay stress on the importance of pondering upon the signs of God. God has created an endless list of subjects for reflection. Everything we see and sense in the heavens and on the earth and in between is indeed a manifestation of God’s creativity and, as such should be food for thought. One of the verses gives the example of these divine blessing of God:

“With it He produces for you corn, olives, date palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily, in this is a sign for those who give thought.” (Surat an-Nahl, 16:11)

Let us think for a moment of one of the above mentioned items: the date palm. The tree, as is well known, grows up from a seed out of the earth. From this tiny seed (a seed is not even 1 cubic centimetre in size), arises an enormous wooden mass of 4-5 metres long and hundreds of kilograms in weight. The only thing that the seed can use while constituting this great mass is the earth in which it is buried.

How can a seed know how to form a tree? How can it “reason” to decompose the necessary substances in the soil to create wood? How can it predict the required shape and structure? This last question is especially important, because it is not an ordinary wooden piece that emerges from the seed. It is a complex living organism with roots for assimilating substances from the earth, with veins and with branches that are perfectly organized. A human being has difficulty in drawing even a picture of a tree, while on the contrary a simple seed can produce such an extremely complex object by merely using the substances in the soil.

This observation concludes that a seed is extremely intelligent and wise, even more so than we are. Or to be more precise, there is an amazing intelligence in what a seed does. But what is the source of that intelligence? How can it be possible for a seed to have such intelligence and memory?

No doubt, this question has a single answer: the seed is created by being endowed with the ability to form a tree, that is, it is programmed so in advance. Every seed on earth is encompassed by God and grows within His knowledge. In one of the verses it is stated:

“With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knows but He. He knows whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear.” (Surat al-An’am, 6:59)

It is God who creates the seed and causes it to spring forth as a new plant. In another verse it is said:

“It is God Who causes the seed-grain and the date-stone to split and sprout. He causes the living to issue from the dead, and He is the one to cause the dead to issue from the living. That is God: then how are you deluded away from the truth?” (Surat al-An’am, 6:95)

The seed is merely one of the numerous signs that God has created in the universe. If men begin to think not only with their minds but also with their hearts, and ask of themselves, the questions “why” and “how”, they will be able to understand that entire universe is the proof of the existence and power of God.

The world is a bridge over the road to the Hereafter. Cross that bridge, but do not behave as if you will remain on it forever. It is unwise to build palaces on bridges.

Salam sejahtera.

Have We not given him two eyes…and shown him the two highways
(Surat al-Balad; 8,10)

All human beings seek a true friend. They look for people to share their happiness with, who will support them in times of trouble, who will show them solutions when they can find none, who will love them unconditionally, be loyal to them, protect them, treat their errors gently, and who will not abandon them when they are ill, in the same way that they will not abandon them when they are healthy, or when they grow old.

However, a person has two ways of finding such a friend. One of these is the way of the Compassionate One, a requirement of Qur’anic moral values and the path chosen by believers who seek solely the approval of Allah. The other is the way of friends who seek to serve only their worldly interests, a path based on advantage. In this article, in which we look at the reasons underlying these two states of affairs, we reveal clear differences between the powerful bonds in relationships between believers and relationships between non-believers based only on worldly gain.

Friendship that attaches importance to moral values: In order to be a true friend, a person must love someone else solely for their proper moral values. These are a person’s fear and love of Allah, faith, sincerity and takwa. Only friendships built upon these values are permanent. The friendship of people with such elevated moral values achieves an unshakeable nature.

A never-ending friendship: There can be no doubt that the true friend that everyone feels the need for and seeks is a great blessing. A true friend is someone who will be there for a person in good times and bad, who unconditionally wishes the same for his friend as he wishes for himself, who wants him to be at least as happy and as well as he wishes himself to be. He is someone who avoids such emotions as jealousy, intolerance and rivalry, who loves the other party sincerely and always wants the best for him.

A friendship aimed at the Hereafter: The precondition for being a true friend is to aim for the other party’s happiness in this world and in the Hereafter. One important attribute of such a friendship is speaking honestly and openly, telling the other party of any deficiencies of faith, and affectionately showing him ways by which these can be remedied. Only a true friend who truly loves the other person can behave in this way.

A friendship based on love and respect: In an environment where people live by Qur’anic morality, fear of and faith in Allah are values whereby people can truly feel love and respect for one another. The love, trust and loyalty that believers feel for one another is shaped totally in accordance with the endeavors they make on the path of Allah. A believer who uses all he possesses for good in order to gain the approval of Allah, who presses forward undeterred on that path, will obtain the love of his Muslim brothers and set an excellent example to them. The powerful loyalty between them will increase the love, devotion and trust they feel towards one another. Therefore, if friendship and closeness are built on people’s fear of and faith in Allah and on proper moral values, then physical alterations due to sickness or age will have absolutely no effect on them. On the contrary, even greater affection and compassion will be felt for the believer.

A friendship based on honesty: Sincerity means a person being the same on the inside as on the outside, an external reflection of what he feels and experiences in his heart. It means being sincere, open and straightforward, revealing one’s true character without hiding one’s real thoughts and feelings, not engaging in calculating behavior or trying to appear different to how one really is. According to Qur’anic moral values, a person is worthy to the extent of his honesty, and his friends and loved ones love him because they know that he is sincere towards them.

Your friend is only Allah and His Messenger and those who believe: those who perform prayer and give the alms, and bow. (Surat Al-Ma’ida; 55)

A friendship condemned to loneliness: Despite all their longing, people who fail to take the moral values of the Qur’an as their guide can never find a true friend. That is why one frequently finds them saying such things as “I am very lonely,” “I don’t have a single friend in the world,” or “They have left me all alone, so they were just fair weather friends.”

A friendship based on prestige and rank: The friendships that some people build on the basis of such values as wealth, beauty, prestige, rank or social status are never long-lasting.  Because as soon as there is a change in these values on which it is based, that friendship comes to an end. For example, someone possessed of such moral values who adopts a friend because that person is very attractive and impressive will immediately lose all interest in them the moment they become unrecognizably flawed, needy and helpless as the result of an accident.

A friendship based on rivalry: People who are competitive and regard others as rivals generally only tell others of their mistakes when they have to.  Because they are generally unwilling for others to be better than them, or even if they see their flaws, they still behave insincerely out of a fear that this could damage their friendship, and so say things like “You are a very good person,” or “We love you just the way you are.”

A friendship based on self-interest: People who live according to their own self-interest experience many psychological ups and downs during the course of their lives. They may lose their attractiveness, youth, health, possessions and wealth. They see that people they once imagined to be their friends attach no value to them when they become old and frail. These people, who were very close and swore undying loyalty to one another in happier times, become so distant as not to speak to or even recognize one another. They see that they have no-one to share a problem with, to advise them, whom they can ask for help from or place their trust in. They realize that even the people they described as my closest friend put their own interests above their friendship.

A friendship dominated by insecurity: It is impossible for people who do not live by the moral values of the Qur’an to feel true love, respect or trust towards one another in the knowledge of each other’s moral failings. It is impossible to truly love and respect someone if one knows that they lie and are false and hypocritical and if one sees that they use other people for their own advantage. A person will be aware that although this individual may say that he is their closest friend, he actually behaves in exactly the same way towards him as well.

The Day when a wrongdoer will bite his hands and say, ‘Alas for me! If only I had gone the way of the Messenger!’
‘Alas for me! If only I had not taken so-and-so for a friend!’
‘He led me astray from the Reminder after it came to me.’ Satan always leaves man in the lurch.
(Surat Al-Furqan; 27-29)

Salam sejahtera.

Foreword

What is explained in this book is an important truth, which has surprised many and changed their perspectives on life. This truth can be summarized as follows: “All events and objects that we encounter in real life-buildings, people, cities, cars, places-in fact, everything we see, hold, touch, smell, taste and hear-come into existence as visions and feelings in our brains“.

We are taught to think that these images and feelings are caused by a solid world outside of our brains, where material things exist. However, in reality we never see real existing materials and we never touch real materials. In other words, every material entity which we believe exists in our lives, is, in fact, only a vision which is created in our brains.

This is not a philosophical speculation. It is an empirical fact that has been proven by modern science. Today, any scientist who is a specialist in medicine, biology, neurology or any other field related to brain research would say, when asked how and where we see the world, that we see the whole world in the vision center located in our brains.

This fact has been scientifically proven in the twentieth century, and although it may seem surprising, it necessarily implies answers to two questions; “If our lives are visions created in our brains, then who is it that creates these visions? And who is it that sees these visions in our brains without having eyes and enjoys them, gets excited and happy?” You will find the answers to these two important questions in this book.

INTRODUCTION

What kind of world do you live in?

A world of solid ground with people and trees, oceans with clouds above it and, higher still, the enormous emptiness of space?

Are you one of the billions of people in that world?

If you answer “yes” to those questions, then you are mistaken!

If you were able to answer “yes” to them, then that means that throughout the course of your life you have probably ignored a most important truth.

The fact is, you do not live in the kind of world described above at all. In your world, there is no distance of even a few meters, let alone of billions of kilometers or galaxies light years away. Actually you live in a very small enclosed space-in a tiny, locked room at the top of a giant tower. You have never left that room. You have never stepped outside it or been anywhere else. All you have seen are different shapes, people and spaces reflected on the walls of that room. You have heard only the sounds emitted from loudspeakers concealed in there. In fact, in that little room at the top of the tower, there is nobody else but you. You are entirely alone!

The “tower” we are speaking of is your body, and the little room atop it (in other words, your world) is your brain.

Your brain is a locked room which you can never step out of, because everything you imagine to be the “outside world” in reality consists of perceptions you experience in the visual or hearing centers of your brain. You can never get past those perceptions and experience directly what we refer to as “real matter”-if such a thing even exists. You can watch the electrical signals arriving at the brain’s visual center, but you can never see those signals’ true source. You literally watch the cinema screen on the walls of your “room,” but can never directly experience the originals of those images.

We shall be setting out that truth in this book. What we explain here will, in all likelihood, contradict a great many ideas and concepts that you’ve become familiar with so far. Yet it is a concrete fact based on scientific proof. Therefore, it’s impossible to reject this truth when one thinks about it in a reasoned and logical manner, instead of sticking to familiar preconceptions.

Never forget that ignoring the truth or refusing to think about it gains a person nothing. If anyone says, “No, I live on a planet in an enormous universe, not in a closed room,” then he needs to prove the fact. If he cannot do so, then blind belief in any such idea will only lead to his remaining deceived.

Writer: Tarkan Yavas

The books of Harun Yahya are making a great impact throughout the world. With their wide-ranging content, handsome designs and written in a sincere and informed style, his works have attracted a tremendous number of readers from the USA to Indonesia, the Republic of South Africa to Russia, China to Australia, Nigeria to Canada.

These works, dealing with the morality of the Qur’an, the Sunnah of our Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) and the signs of Creation have led many people to faith for the first time, or to deepen the faith they have. The books about world politics and Freemasonry, on the other hand, have changed the outlook of many, helping them become acquainted with the inner workings of many events.

But Harun Yahya’s books explaining the scientific collapse of Darwinism have made the greatest effect. These particular titles have had a special impact worldwide, exposing the true face of Darwinism to many countries of the world, Turkey being the foremost.

These valuable works’ considerable impact has given rise to differing explanations about how they came to be written. Some people have alleged that they are collective works of a sort, prepared by a group, or committee. Actually, this allegation is a compliment about these books’ extraordinary nature and brilliance. Harun Yahya’s works are unique in terms of their style, illustrations, conclusions, comprehensiveness, honesty, and persuasiveness. To claim that these powerful, irrefutable, unprecedented works are the collective work of a committee or group only lends support to an already astonishing situation.

Stating that these books can only be the product of a collaboration by a group of academicians and professors, funded by some governments simply supports the fact that they result from a particularly outstanding talent. Some such allegations include statements like, “Creationist institutions in the United States must be involved,” “Saudi Arabia and Egypt probably provided funding, ” “Political circles must have lent their assistance,” and “These must be the work of a committee.” But none of them are true. In fact, this body of work is the product of one single extraordinary mind.

On the other hand, the invalidity of such allegations soon become obvious, after only some very simple reasoning:

1. Throughout the world, there are thousands of professors, scientists, educators and academicians, as well as many biologists, zoologists, biogeneticists, biomathematicians, paleontologists and anthropologists in nearly every country. Add to them the countless academicians who specialize in fields such as history, international relations and the archeology of prehistory. If, as is claimed, works like Harun Yahya’s can be produced by a team of professors and academicians, then such a group should come together and try to write one. If they succeed, then all around the world we should see the publication of many books similar to Harun Yahya’s in their informative illustrations, logical arguments and persuasive style. Yes, thousands of academies and educational institutions could organize and finance such an endeavor. But until now, none of them could write books similar to Harun Yahya’s, whose work is unique in its effectiveness and power of inspiration.

2. One very important characteristic of any book written by a team is that it will contain many conflicting and contradictory views and different styles of writing. In such “team efforts,” there is no logical unity or consensus of opinion. Different techniques of expression and different styles are employed, and the photographs and graphic illustrations will not be in harmony. To a large degree, much of the evidence and the interpretations will contradict one another. Any reader will quickly notice the varying styles and understand that this book has been written by more than one author before they have finished two or three chapters. However, in the more than 250 books that Harun Yahya has completed, there is a consistent wholeness of style and logic.

3. The same profound sincerity, power of inspiration, same techniques and means of expression and rhetoric can be found throughout all his works. Even the artistic and aesthetic quality of the illustrations in these books embodies a visual wholeness. If the books of Harun Yahya were actually written by a team, then they should display inner logical contradictions and considerable dislocations in the style and technique. But as his many readers will attest, there are no such contradictions in any of his books. Therefore anyone who reads them can easily understand that Harun Yahya’s books are the products of one single mind.

4. Some other circles claim, instead, that these books are prepared by some young members of SRF (the Science Research Foundation) who are close to Harun Yahya. Indeed, many who associate with Harun Yahya are young people with college degrees. But neither their accumulated knowledge nor their breadth of education is sufficient to prepare such effective, comprehensive volumes. Moreover, assuming they actually did have the ability, intelligence and background to prepare such books, surely they would have taken that opportunity: At least a few of them would have already published very similar books. But till now, nothing of the sort has ever happened. If everyone with a college degree could write a comparable book, then tens of thousands of graduates from hundreds of colleges in Turkey and elsewhere, individually or in small groups, should have been able to publish books like Harun Yahya’s. However, no such work has ever appeared in print.

5. Some claim that these books are prepared or underwritten by creationist organizations and institutions in such countries as the USA, and Saudi Arabia. But if any country or constitution were able to produce such works, they would publish them openly under their own imprints and would hardly need to conceal their identity. Eventually, it would present no inconvenience for any individual, institution or government to admit their contribution and support toward these books. Besides, everyone would be eager to claim credit for such powerfully influential works.

6. The aforementioned countries and institutions have great financial resources and technical infrastructure. There are teams of scholars in Saudi Arabia, thousands of professors working in American universities, and hundreds of scientists throughout Egypt. Yet, not one book similar to those of Harun Yahya has ever been produced by any institution—not in Saudi Arabia, nor in Egypt, nor in America, or in any other country. Obviously, even if 100 professors were to assemble or dozens of countries were to join forces, they could not produce even one single similar book. This is yet another proof of the extraordinary and wonderful nature of the author’s work.

7. One question frequently raised is the financial power necessary for publication of these books, which are printed and distributed in the millions. These naturally yield an income, which in turn is used for reprinting existing titles and publishing new ones. That the author’s books are sent out as gifts to certain addresses have astonished some people, although this is nothing to be surprised about. Similar distribution methods are employed by many publishing houses, which often ship out free books to serve as tools for advertising and publicity. Very often, the recipients then place orders for other books, and usually, even purchase these works in entire sets. Therefore, the original gift is returned to the giver, many times over. One most striking example occurred when books were sent as gifts to selected addresses in France. As a result of this campaign, demand for Harun Yahya’s books in French greatly increased, and their sales in France exploded.

One reason why Harun Yahya’s books are so extraordinarily impressive is that the author intends, in order to earn God’s good pleasure, to be a means whereby his readers may be correctly guided; and every book he writes is sincerely striving to this end.

By His will, God is rewarding this sincere endeavor, and Harun Yahya’s body of work intellectually defeats all materialist and atheistic philosophies.

Salam sejahtera.

INTRODUCTION

We are living in an era in which the world is desperately in need of peace, friendship, and solidarity. The tensions and conflicts that so defined the twentieth century continue in this new century, and innocent people all around the world continue to suffer from them.Despite the urgent need for solidarity and cooperation, certain circles are inciting conflict, particularly conflict between the world’s two greatest and deep-rooted civilizations. This issue needs to be scrutinized, as the war of civilizations that they envisage would have disastrous consequences for humanity. One of the best ways of preventing such a disaster is to strengthen the dialogue and cooperation between these civilizations. This is not a hard task, as there are no fundamental differences between Islam and the Judeo-Christian western world. To the contrary, there is much common ground between them. Considering the current situation and the nature of the world’s problems, these shared values will make the cooperation necessary for solving them possible.

Today, ideological struggles, indeed, continue to divide the world. However, Muslims are not at one pole and Jews and Christians are not at the opposing pole. In fact, one pole represents people who believe in God’s existence and unity, and the other pole represents the unbelievers, who believe in such anti-religious ideologies as materialism and Darwinism. There is only one way to defeat the alliance of the various groups of unbelievers on an ideological level: eradicate the negative and destructive influences of anti-religious materialism and further the cause of a society dominated by morality, happiness, tranquility, security, and prosperity. This will be done by forming an alliance of all conscientious people, namely, sincere Christians, along with religious Jews and Muslims, who will come together and unite in this common cause.

There have been conflicts and disputes between members of these three religions in the past, but those were the result of the erroneous reasoning and evil motives of certain states, nations, and individuals who pursued their own economic and political gain instead of the central beliefs of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. One of the common aims of these divinely revealed religions is to ensure the happiness, security, peace, and tranquility of all people by opposing conflict.

Therefore, this dialogue and alliance will be based on the sincere believers’ quest for justice, peace, and support for all people. The resulting dialogue will not be restricted to meetings and conferences, but will cement an alliance between people who advocate common values, fight for the same cause, and seek permanent solutions to common problems. This alliance will be one of the main contributing factors to tranquility at a time when Prophet Jesus’ (peace be upon him) second coming is expected.

Salam sejahtera.

Introduction

Take a look around you from where you sit. You will notice that everything in the room is “made”: the walls, the upholstery, the ceiling, the chair where you sit, the booklet you hold in your hand, the glass on the table and countless other details. None of them happen to exist in your room of their own accord. Even the simple loops of the carpet were made by someone: they did not appear spontaneously or by chance.

A person who is about to read a book knows that it has been written by an author for a specific reason. It would not even occur to him that this book might have come into being by chance. In the same manner, a person who sees a sculpture has no doubt whatsoever that it was made by a sculptor. And not just works of art: even a few bricks resting on top of one another make one think that they must have been brought to rest just so by someone within a certain plan. Therefore, everywhere where there is an order – either small or big – a founder and protector of this order must also exist. If, one day, somebody came forward and said that raw iron and coal came together to form steel by chance, which in turn constructed the Eiffel Tower again by chance, would not he and those who believed him be regarded as insane?

The claim of the theory of evolution, the unique method of denying the existence of God, is no different from this. According to the theory, lifeless atoms formed amino acids by chance, amino acids formed proteins by chance, and finally proteins formed living creatures again by chance. However, the probability of a living creature being formed by coincidence is less than the probability of the Eiffel Tower being formed in the same manner, because even the simplest living cell is more sophisticated than any man-made structure in the world.

How is it possible to think that the balance in the world came about by coincidence when the extraordinary harmony of nature is observable even with the naked eye? It is the most unreasonable claim to say that the universe, each point of which suggests the existence of its Creator, has come into being on its own.

Therefore, there should be a designer of the balance visible everywhere from our body to the farthest corners of the inconceivably vast universe. So, who is this Creator that ordained everything so subtly and created all?

He cannot be any material being present within the universe, because His must be a will that existed before the universe and created the universe therewith. The Almighty Creator is One in Whom everything finds existence, yet Whose existence is without any beginning or end.

Religion teaches us the identity of our Creator Whose existence we discover with our reason. Through what He has revealed to us as religion, we know that He is God, the Compassionate and the Merciful, Who created the heavens and the earth from nothing.

Although most people have the capability to grasp this fact, they spend their lives unaware of it. When they look at a landscape painting, they wonder who its painter is. Later, they praise the artist at length for his beautiful work of art. Despite the fact that they face numerous originals of the natural world he painted the moment they turn around, they still disregard the existence of God, Who is the only owner of all these beauties. In truth, no lengthy research is needed to understand the existence of God. Even if one of us had to live in a room from the time he was born, countless pieces of evidence in this room alone would be enough for him to grasp the existence of God.

The human body so overflows with evidence that it could not be contained in many multi-volumed encyclopaedias. Giving only a few minutes of conscientious thought to it all is enough to understand the existence of God. The present order is protected by God and maintained by Him.

The human body is not the only food for thought. Life abides in every square millimetre of the earth, be it observable by men or not. The world overflows with many living beings, from unicellular organisms to plants, from insects to sea animals, and from birds to human beings. If you take a handful of soil and look at it, even therein you can discover manifold living creatures with diverse characteristics. The same is true also for the air you breathe. Even on your skin, there are many living creatures whose names are unknown to you. In the intestines of all living beings are millions of bacteria or unicellular organisms that help digestion. The animal population in the world is many times greater than the human population. When we also consider the plant world, we see that there is not a single spot on the earth where there is no life. All of these creatures that are spread over an area of millions of square kilometres have different body systems, different lives and different contributions to the ecological balance. It is preposterous to claim that all these have come into existence by chance with no aim or purpose. No living being has come to exist through its own accord or effort. No coincidental happening can ever result in such complicated systems.

All of this evidence leads us to the conclusion that the universe works with a certain “consciousness”. What, then, is the source of this consciousness? Surely it is neither the living nor the non-living beings in it. Nor can they be the ones that maintain the harmony and preserve the order. The existence and glory of God reveals itself in countless proofs in the universe. In fact, there is not even a single man on the earth who will not accept this evident reality from the heart. Yet they still deny it “in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls are convinced thereof” as stated in the Qur’an. (The Qur’an, 27:14)

This booklet is written to point out the reality from which some people turn away because their interests are at odds with it, and also to disclose the frauds and senseless deductions on which some systems of thought are based. This is why many diverse subjects are tackled in the booklet.

Those who read this booklet will once more see the indisputable evidence of God’s existence and witness that God’s existence encompasses all things: the “reason” knows this. Just as He has created this all-pervading order, He is the One Who also maintains it incessantly.

Copernicus demolished the Earth-centered model of the universe proposed by Ptolemy and adopted by the Catholic Church. The new model portrayed the Earth as merely a part of the Solar System.

Throughout the years, people have observed their universe and tried to uncover its secrets. To answer some thorny questions, many scientists have made important discoveries, considering the restrictions of the age they lived in; and others have been noteworthy in their own times, yet the claims they made later came to be regarded as scientific errors.

Claudius Ptolemy was a scientist and philosopher of the second century CE, who lived in Alexandria when it was the center of scientific research. He observed the skies in order to learn about the universe and the world’s place in it and pondered the movements of the Sun, Moon and stars. Finally, he concluded that the Earth must be the center of the universe. According to his theory, the Earth was motionless, and the Sun, Moon and the stars all rotated around it. His writings attracted much attention, were translated into many languages, and had a great influence, especially on European culture. The Catholic Church based its theology on Ptolemy’s Earth-centered model. Within a short time, some people noticed discrepancies in his theory, but were forced into silence because of the wide popularity that Ptolemy enjoyed. Once noticed, however, these discrepancies could not be easily ignored. By the 15th century, Copernicus had shown the errors in Ptolemy’s ideas and came out firmly against the idea of an Earth-centered universe. As the centuries went on, it became known that the Earth was a planet revolving around the Sun, which was only one star among millions of others in the Milky Way, and that the Milky Way was just one example of countless other galaxies composed of stars.

Every individual sets out goals that are important to him or her. Yet not one of these needs is as important as one blessing you possess at every moment: breathing.
If you had been unable to breathe for a minute, you would have given up all you owned in order to be able to breathe again. In another minute or so you would have lost consciousness. Brain death would follow in another two or three minutes, and your life would be at an end.
This process, which seems so simple and which very few people ever think about, is actually the first link in a miracle. Every cell in our bodies needs the oxygen provided by breathing. The beating of your heart, the movements of your muscles, cell division, thought would not be possible without oxygen.
In this film, you will see what a great blessing breathing is and how each one of the systems which allow you to breathe is a miraculous example of God’s creation.

Through the verses of the Qur’an, our Almighty Lord has imparted the glad tidings that He will place Islam above all other faiths and cause the moral values of the Qur’an to prevail over the world. In the Hadith, the Prophet (saas) tells us that Allah will bring about this welcome event through the efforts of the Mahdi. The Messenger of Allah (saas) has reported that the Mahdi, the spiritual leader of Muslims at this time, will perform a great service for the good of all mankind and Islam, and will carry out very important activities.

By Allah’s leave, the Mahdi—likened to the Prophet (saas) in terms of his excellent moral virtues—will restore to its essential nature the faith, which has been distorted from its true essence through various superstitious beliefs and false practices. Together with the Prophet ‘Isa (as), he will cause Islam, the one true faith, to prevail on Earth. According to the information contained in the Hadith, the Mahdi will make sincere efforts, to ensure mankind’s salvation in this world and in the Hereafter. And thanks to him, peace, plenty and abundance will be found on Earth.

According to the tawatur (completely trustworthy) Hadith, the long-awaited coming of the Mahdi will be one of the most important events in the Islamic world. The entire Muslim world is hoping for—and enthusiastically awaiting—the renewal of Islamic civilization and the moral values of the Qur’an to prevail on Earth, through this blessed personage.

In the Hadith of the Prophet (saas), it is also reported that as the Mahdi performs this honorable and superior task, the number of those around him will be very small. Yet despite their being so few in number, the moral values of Islam will, by Allah’s leave, come to prevail across the entire globe. This is, of course, a miracle of Allah’s. In the Qur’an, he tells us that, “Allah reinforces with His help whoever He wills. There is instruction in that for people of insight” (Surah Al ‘Imran, 13).

Allah desires Islamic virtues to prevail on Earth, and He has the power to bring this about in the manner of His choosing. Indeed, events taking place in our own day herald the fact that, by Allah’s leave, this time is close at hand.

All Activities Around the Globe Serve the Mahdi and the Dominion of Islamic Moral Values

As reported in the Hadith of the Prophet (saas), the Mahdi will have around him a group of supporters and helpmates that, as stated above, will be comparatively small in number. But, by Allah’s will, anyone who tries to assist in the development of Islam and the spreading of Qur’anic moral values will, knowingly or otherwise, be serving the Mahdi.

For that reason, every activity on Earth is actually a service rendered to the Mahdi. Everyone who writes books or articles, publishes newspapers or magazines, or arranges conferences to that end is, wittingly or unwittingly, assisting and supporting the Mahdi, in preparing for the dominion of Islamic moral values under his leadership.

No doubt that this is a promise and assistance from Allah to His true servants. Nothing can obstruct the will of Allah. He wills Islamic moral values to be installed over the world, and by His leave, this promise will come about. It is reported in the Qur’an that by Allah’s will, the faithful will be victorious:

We supported them, and so they were the victors. (Surat as-Saffat, 116)

All Activities Carried out against the Mahdi in fact serve his Coming and his Mission

This century is a glad epoch when signs of the End Times are coming about, one by one, and the whole Muslim world is in a state of expectancy. The second coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as)—who, as indicated in the verses of the Qur’an, did not die and will return to Earth again, as is described in great detail in the Hadith—is awaited with great excitement. In the same way, the appearance of the Mahdi, whose name, qualities and activities are all set out in detail in tawatur Hadith of the Prophet (saas), is another event awaited by the entire Islamic world.

Some of the Hadith referring to the second coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the appearance of the Mahdi read as follows:

By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Maryam [‘Isa] will shortly descend amongst you people as a just ruler. (Sahih al-Bukhari)

‘Isa (as), son of Maryam, will come down as a just judge [ruler] and imam for his nation. . . . (Al-Tabari, Al-Awsat, Hadith no. 4577, 5:292.)

[The Day of Judgment] will not come until you see ten signs . . . [one of which is] the descent of ‘Isa son of Maryam . . . . (Sahih Muslim)

Abu Dawud reported a Hadith from Abd Allah ibn Masud: The Prophet said, If there were only one day left for the world, that day would be lengthened until a man from among my descendants or from among the people of my household, was sent; . . . He will fill the earth with justice and fairness, just as it will have been filled with injustice and oppression. (Abu Dawud)

. . . From Abu Hurairah, the Prophet said, “If there were only one day left for this world, Allah would lengthen it until he [the Mahdi] took power.” (at-Tirmidhi)

All the Ahlul Sunnah scholars are in agreement about these glad tidings in the Hadith. Among eminent Islamic scholars, there is no difference of opinion at all about the coming of these blessed individuals who will cause Islamic virtues as imparted by the Prophet (saas) to prevail on Earth. Therefore, the coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi is too certain a matter to be concealed or misinterpreted.

Even so, some may still harbor doubts about the second coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the appearance of the Mahdi—which doubt is a most serious error. The important fact to realize is this: Even if people do hold such views, this is actually nothing more than another sign of the appearance of the Mahdi. The position of such people is a clear indication of the imminence of the Mahdi’s coming.

These glad tidings are imparted thus in the Hadith of the Prophet (saas):

Allah Almighty will send the Mahdi after despair has reached the point that people will say, “There is no Mahdi.”
(Nu’aym ibn Hammad)

The Mahdi will appear with the standard of the Messenger of Allah (saas), when people encounter one trouble after another and when all hope for his emergence is lost . . .
(Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-zaman, p. 55)

The Mahdi is an individual whose tidings have been imparted and who is enthusiastically awaited by the faithful. It is the duty of every Muslim to await and spread the good news of his coming.

In the Qur’an, too, Allah has revealed that some may doubt that He will send a messenger to lead the faithful. As an example, he cites those who said that there would be no prophet after Prophet Yusuf (as):

Yusuf brought you the clear signs before, but you never stopped doubting what he brought to you to the extent that when he died, you said, “Allah will never send another messenger after him.” That is how Allah misguides those who are unbridled and full of doubt.

In the Qur’an, our Lord has promised that He will cause Islamic values to prevail over the world and will bestow power and authority on His faithful servants. He tells us that this promise is a certain one. The Hadith of the Prophet (saas) and the words of all the great Islamic scholars state that Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi will be instrumental in this taking place. In the light of this absolute promise of Allah’s, Islamic moral values will come to rule, and an individual will assume leadership of Muslims.

For a long time now, Muslims have had no such leader to bring them all together. By Allah’s leave, this first leader—the tidings of whom have been reported for 1,400 years—will be the Mahdi. He will eliminate oppression and darkness and be a means whereby the beauty of Islamic virtues is experienced by all the world.

As this concluding time approaches, all the events taking place, be they great or small, will play important roles in the coming about of this destiny determined by Allah. Knowingly or unknowingly, willingly or not, people’s every action will help in this outcome being attained. All efforts and propaganda expended against its happening will be just as effective as work carried out to further the appearance, recognition and service of the Mahdi. Every action taken in opposition to the Mahdi will further increase his effectiveness and contribute to his activities being echoed around the world.

Those who maintain that Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi will not appear, those who say “I do not believe in the second coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi,” will, through their very words and deeds, again draw attention to those two blessed individuals and, by serving them thus unwittingly, become a means whereby others can reflect on these important tidings. In that sense, therefore, to say “Prophet ‘Isa (as) will not come” is the same as saying “Prophet ‘Isa (as) will come”! Similarly, saying “The Mahdi will not come” actually means “The Mahdi will.” Anyone who says “I stand opposed to the Mahdi” will encourage , further curiosity, interest in and discussion about the Mahdi. By Allah’s leave, deniers and hypocrites, those who adopt ideas opposed to Qur’anic moral values, and the enemies of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi greatly assist—albeit unwillingly and unknowingly—in these glad tidings being disseminated and in Islamic virtues spreading across the world.

By the will of Allah, these are all events that cannot be prevented; they have already taken place in destiny.
To believers, Allah reveals this state of affairs in the Qur’an:

The Power of the Mahdi’s Faith will Spread a Spiritual Awakening Across the World

As already mentioned, those who surround and support the Mahdi will be few in number. But the light of the Mahdi’s system has illumined the whole world. Without being aware of it, the whole world will abide by the logic and perspective of the Mahdi’s message and will come to be influenced by the fervor of his faith. Spiritual excitement and the tendency towards faith will spread from the Mahdi to his disciples, and from them to others around them, and thus throughout the whole world. One person will read a book, listen to a talk or see a film; increase in spiritual fervor as a result, and then tell someone else of what he’s learned.

And that person will tell others. There will be a chain reaction, increasing spiritual fervor, and influence will spread over the entire world, reaching even Jews and Christians. As a result, a huge spiritual awakening will take place all over the Earth.

The world will not know the origin of this spiritual excitement; those opposed to faith will be unaware that this fervor originates from the system of the Mahdi. But in fact, this is one of the most important signs of the Mahdi and his order.

This is one of the most important signs of the Mahdi.

Islamic scholars have stated that this spiritual fervor, spreading in waves across the world, will stem from the Mahdi’s attributes of being “Qutb al-Irshad” and “Qutb al-Aqtab.” Qutb al-Irshad is one who provides a means for the world to awaken from heedlessness, who leads it to guidance and the true path, and who is the true heir of the Prophet (saas)—a great individual who inherits his knowledge and manners, his task of purifying souls by means of light, his work of turning hearts towards Allah, and his art of taming lower selves and giving balance to life. The Qutb al-Aqtab is one who brings order to the world, a means whereby people discover the true path through the greatest mentor of their time:

. . . Indeed, [Qutb al-Madar] always exists, and it also exists in our day. It had also existed in the time of the Prophet (saas). Such people are also called Qutb al-Aqtab. However, they need seclusion. No one knows them. Furthermore, sometimes, they even do not know themselves. The duty of protecting Islam is granted to that blessed person called Qutb al-Irshad. Guidance and faith is granted to everyone through . . . that person, who protects Islam, so it does not remain vulnerable. The enemies of the religion cannot dare to demolish or change it.

In the Thirty-fifth Marifat of his book [Ma'arif-i Ladunniyya], Imam Rabbani says: Qutb al-Abdal, that is, Qutb al-Madar [the one who becomes the means], becomes a means of prosperity for everything in the universe and the world to exist and to remain in existence. Qutb al-Irshad, on the other hand, becomes a means for prosperity to be granted for the guidance of the universe. Creation of everything, grant of blessings, removal of trouble and ills, recovery of the sick, well-being of the people are possible through the prosperity of the Qutb al-Abdal. Having faith, being guided to the true path, being able to engage in worship, asking for repentance, on the other hand, become possible through the prosperity of the Qutb al-Irshad. The existence of Qutb al-Abdal is essential in every time and age. Its absence is unthinkable, for the universe orders itself thanks to its existence.

. . . Through the Qutb al-Irshad, all people are granted faith and guidance. (Tam Ilmihal, Saadet-i Ebeddiyye ["The Complete Laws of Islam, Eternal Happiness"], Hakikat Publishing, 93rd Edition, Prepared by: Huseyin Hilmi Isik, p. 909.)

In the second letter in his Mabda’ wa Maad, Imam Rabbani describes the matter under the heading “The Prosperity of the Qutb al-Irshad”:

A qutb al-irshad who possesses inherent personal excellence exists very rarely. Such great virtue comes only after several ages. The dark universe becomes bright with the light of his coming. His luminous guidance surrounds the entire universe. Whoever receives the true path through his means, takes benefit from it—guidance, faith and knowledge, from the heights of the Divine Might to the midst of the Earth. Without his mediation, no one can reach this blessing. His guiding light surrounds the entire universe like an ocean. And as if frozen, this ocean never moves. In one who is sincerely drawn toward this great person, the heart opens at the very moment of this inclination. Through this means, one feels fulfilled with his sincerity and love, his heart filling with prosperity. A person who gives himself to keep in mind remembrance of Allah and fails to tend to this individual—not out of denial, but from ignorance of his existence—also benefits from this prosperity. In the first case, however, the prosperity is greater than in the latter.

. . . Even if they remain distant from remembering Allah and turning to Him, for those who turn to that great person and love him sincerely, the light of guidance reaches them, merely on account of their love. May peace be upon those who are subject to guidance. (Mabda’ wa Maad, Sufi Books, Istanbul, October 2005, pp. 23-24.)

Today, waves of people are turning to faith in Allah.

In our own time, a great many developments are taking place day by day to show that great spiritual awakening, prosperity and excitement are increasing across the entire world. As revealed by Allah in the verse, “and you have seen people entering Allah’s religion in droves” (Surat an-Nasr, 2), droves of people are turning to faith in Allah.

Many examples reveal this state of affairs. For example, in the 15 August, 2006, edition of the British daily The Guardian, an article titled “How Did We Get Here?” noted that an astonishing 30% of students in the UK did not believe in evolution, and that this level had been much lower in the past. “Evolution,” it concluded, “is on the way out.”

As reported in Science magazine, according to research conducted from the year 1985 to 2004 in 34 countries by Michigan State University in the USA, Turkey has become the only country in which the overwhelming majority believe that the theory of evolution is invalid.

A report on the American website www.pitch.com quoted the evolutionist professor Umit Sayin as saying, “There is no fight against the creationists now. They have won the war. . . In 1998, I was able to motivate six members of the Turkish Academy of Sciences to speak out against the creationist movement. Today, it’s impossible to motivate anyone.” The report went on to describe Turkey as a country in which adherents of the theory of evolution had been almost entirely routed.

Even a few of these developments clearly reveal the effects of this spiritual strength spreading across the world. Most remain unaware of the source of this spiritual awakening and of the effect it is having on the world. Yet this spiritual resurrection is one of the clearest signs that the Mahdi’s appearance is close at hand—because this spiritual fervor originates from the radiant powerful faith, prosperity and abundance of the Mahdi.

But as we know, one of the great signs of the Mahdi is the way that this blessed personage will not claim to be the Mahdi, because there is no need for the Mahdi to make himself known. Since his destiny has entrusted him this duty, Allah will let him become known to people through his global impact, the light of his faith and his fervor.

Our Almighty Lord revealed the moral virtues of the Mahdi, his physical characteristics, his actions, service and global impact to our Prophet (saas), 1,400 years ago. In the same way that it is impossible to imitate these features or to acquire them through one’s own efforts, so by Allah’s leave, it is impossible to obstruct or neutralize his work. Allah has placed the whole world at the service of the Mahdi. All who work for him or against him, whether willingly or not, knowingly or unknowingly, are actually helping the Mahdi attain this outcome appointed by Allah and is contributing to the glorious destined rise of Islamic moral values. In that sense, therefore, it is impossible to engage in any activity against the Mahdi, since Allah converts every development working against him into one working in the Mahdi’s favor.

“You who believe! Why do you say what you do not do? It is deeply abhorrent to Allah that you should say what you do not do.”
(Surat as-Saff; 2-3)
“You were bandying it about on your tongues, your mouths uttering something about which you had no knowledge. You considered it to be a trivial matter, but, in Allah’s Sight, it is immense.”
(Surat an-Nur; 15)

INTRODUCTION

There are those who claim to have faith in Islam and be fairly acquainted with the Qur’an, yet they readily disregard some of its rulings. Some fall into this error unwittingly, while others—under the influence of some particular rationale of their own making besides the Qur’an—deliberately and willfully ignore its rulings.

Meanwhile, they pay no attention to the consequences of such an attitude in the Sight of Allah, or how far it removes them from His good pleasure. But in the Qur’an, Allah warns that those who do not pay heed to His commandments will face torment in the Hereafter.

Based on a system of conduct apart from the Qur’an, representatives of this mentality give priority to some of Allah’s commandments while entirely abandoning others. In fact, such distorted understandings of religion are the legacy of centuries-old traditions. According to this popular distorted understanding of religion, those who violate the fundamental commandments may be plagued by pangs of conscience. But neglecting the ones to which people attach little importance—even though they too are part of the Qur’an— will cause little discomfort. Deeming punishment unlikely, many do not observe certain acts of worship that Allah has made obligatory and violate various prohibitions, saying, “We will be forgiven.”
But nowhere in the Qur’an does Allah condone such an outlook. On the contrary, He makes clear that all commandments and prohibitions therein come from Him and are equally important. Therefore, just as a person prays and fasts, so he must also meticulously observe the other divine ordinances in the Qur’an.

For example, under the influence of society’s moral indoctrinations, a person may avoid acts that Allah forbids, such as theft or adultery. However, without suffering any feelings of guilt, he may readily gossip, slander, break promises, befriend others who deny verses of the Qur’an. He may fail to spend for the cause of Allah, and neglect to glorify Allah regularly at the specified times or to feel grateful to Him—in brief, consider it unimportant to observe many of Allah’s commandments.

One cannot say that such a person displays the character of a believer or lives by the principles of Islam. For no matter how much he claims to be a true Muslim, this individual actually adheres only to “a religion of traditions” based on custom, yet embellished with some Islamic concepts. His grave mistake is feeling content to comply with only a few commandments of the Qur’an. Because he never considers the possibility that his rationale is flawed, he feels assured that he is indeed a true Muslim.

Surely, there is a reward for every act of worship performed purely to earn Allah’s good pleasure. In the Hereafter, however, people will also be held responsible for the commandments they disregarded. By the will of Allah, provided that a person is sincere, if he fasts and attends to prayers, will earn the rewards of those acts of worship in the Hereafter. Yet, if one intentionally disregards and neglects other commandments in the Qur’an, then his acts of worship may well become unacceptable in the Sight of Allah. For this very reason, Allah warns all believers against the danger and summons them to abandon the misconceptions of religion they’ve inherited from their forefathers, which was shaped by tradition and ignorant reasoning:

“When they are told, ‘Follow what Allah has sent down to you,’ They say, ‘We are following what we found our fathers doing.’ What, even though their fathers did not understand a thing and were not guided!”(Surat al-Baqara; 170)

Yet some people, despite having been given guidance, insist on this kind of a traditional approach to religion.

The purpose of this book is to remind those who have not realized their error or considered the penalty such an attitude will entail and to summon them to live by the true principles of Islam. Allah declares that man is responsible for all the commandments in the Qur’an. Someone who becomes distracted by everyday hassles—who ignores numerous verses of the Qur’an, assuming that Islam means merely prayers and fasting—will not dare to say in the Hereafter, “I was unaware of those verses” or offer excuses to justify his negligence in learning the commandments of the Qur’an. Allah describes the situation of such people:

Do you, then, believe in one part of the Book and reject the other? What repayment will there be for any of you who do that except disgrace in this world? And on the Day of Rising, they will be returned to the harshest of punishments. Allah is not unaware of what you do.(Surat al-Baqara; 85)

For this reason, then, we will examine some frequently ignored commands of the Qur’an and call believers to live according to all its verses, thus avoiding the terrible pangs they warn of.
